Locked Up

One of the appeals of a museum is the unique variety of objects within that museum's collections. However, it is not just the object, but the history tied to that object. On one of the shelves of the Santa Fe Trail Center's collection sits a rather cumbersome metal lock. The same lock can be seen on the door in the photograph of Larned's first jail in 1886.
