Mrs. Grant's Dress

 

If you wondered about the unveiling at our docent meeting today, read Carol Jenkner's article this week in the Tiller and Toiler on the Mystery of Mrs. Grant's dress. This three piece silk dress was worn to the second inauguration of Ulysses S. Grant in 1873, and later gifted to the Fort Larned Historical Society in 1973. 

 

Although kept secure in the museum's textile vault, it is in need of proper conservation.
